There is a gap between how the internet feels and what you can wear. Graphic tees tried to close it. Drop culture tried. Print-on-demand definitely tried and failed.
SAEBA started because we thought embroidery — the oldest textile technique — was the right medium for internet culture. Not ironic. Not nostalgic. Just honest.
A meme that gets embroidered becomes an artifact. It stops being ephemeral. You can hold it, wash it, wear it ten years from now. The joke outlasts the algorithm.
We choose references carefully. We are not trying to capture trending content — trending content is dead by the time a garment ships. We look for the images and ideas that have already proved they have staying power. The ones that got screenshotted, reposted, referenced in other memes.
Those are the ones worth stitching.
